The number of active COVID-19 cases has dramatically increased since our last circular, and masks and social distancing have become strictly imposed.

Travelling to Egypt from Libya is permitted only by land.  Travelling to Tunisia is permitted only if 1. entering Tunisia is by land via the southern side of the border 2. a PCR certificate is provided 3. an application is provided from the Tunisian Embassy in Tripoli and LYD 1750 is paid 4. the Tunisian Embassy will book a hotel for the traveller prior to arrival ( for quarantine purposes) , and the traveller should stay at that hotel for 7 days.

 

Officially, Libya is in lockdown from 2100 to 0600 every day, and in 24hr lockdown during the weekend.

The courts were closed for three months during the COVID-19 pandemic, from 15th March 2020, and during this time all time bars for new actions were suspended.

Flights

There are flights to Turkey only.  Otherwise, the airport authorities have checked for the reopening of the airports, and circulated instructions for all national air carriers to prepare for local flights.  However, there are no specific dates for either local or international flights (for destinations other than Turkey).

Ports in Libya

Please note that currently crew changes are only permitted for nationals, and accessing medical attention for foreign crew is difficult.  However, when a ship is at anchorage a medical team can board the vessel.

When national seafarers disembark they will be tested for Covid-19, and asked to stay at home for 15 days.

Otherwise port operations are running smoothly.
