Since our last update, there have not been any significant changes regarding Libya.

The night-time curfew (6pm – 6am) has been extended for another 10 days as of 7th May 2020.

In the meantime, the war to conquer Tripoli has intensified since the country confirmed its first case of Covid-19 at the end of March.  These attacks contributed to the World Health Organization decision to include Libya among the countries at high risk from Covid-19.  The organization said that Libya had weak capacities to detect and respond to Covid-19 and there is a huge risk of the total system being quickly overwhelmed should the disease spread in Libya.  The authorities, particularly in the conflict-ridden west and south, won’t be able to cope with large numbers of patients.
